Interlibrary loans

Interlibrary loan (ILL) is a lending and borrowing service between Italian libraries.

Books not owned by the LUISS Library or by other libraries in Rome may be requested from other Italian libraries.

Who can use the service?

This service is provided for LUISS faculty, LUISS graduate and postgraduate students, international students, current members of the LUISS Library, and current members of the LUISS Alumni Network.

What can be requested?

Books not owned by the LUISS Library or by other libraries in Rome.

Due to inconveniences caused by the library renovation, Interlibrary Loan service has been reinforced and extended to include materials available in Rome's libraries.

How many books can be requested at a time?

To guarantee an efficient service, we ask users to make no more than 8 requests per month or 4 per day.

How much does the service cost?

If the books requested are available at one of our partner libraries, the service is free of charge. Otherwise, the cost usually is no more than 6 Euro. We will let you know prior to placing your request.

How can you make a request?

To make a request, please fill out the online form (Italian) or deliver the form in person to the Electronic Resources Room.

Please check the Library catalog before making any request.

How long does it take to receive the books?

Approximately 8/10 business days, but the wait time depends on the library that receives the request. The LUISS Library handles your request within 2 business days. You will be informed as soon as the LUISS Library receives your books.
