How do I find...a book, a periodical or an article

How do I find…a book

1. Consult Summon

Summon is a discovery system that allows you to do a single integrated search of the majority of bibliographical and full-text resources available in the Luiss Library and of other relevant, open source resources, as well as of the following institutional archives: LUISSearchLUISSThesis and Digital Library.

2. Consult the library catalog

You can find the location of books by title, author or keyword; for other searching strategies consult the Summon user guide.

3. Consult other catalogs

If the book you are looking for is not in our library, you can consult other national catalogs, such as SBN. If the book is available in Rome, you can go directly to that library. Otherwise, you can order it through the interlibrary loan service.

How do I find…a periodical

1. Consult the search engine for periodicals, Journal Search

Journal Search provides a complete list of printed and online periodicals available in the library.

The following information is provided for printed periodicals: the title of the periodical, language, access number for the reading room (this year’s periodicals), access number for archived periodicals (periodicals from previous years), current printed periodicals in the Library and missing items.

The following information is provided for online periodicals: the title, with a direct link to the online resource, the abstract and/or full text, the language, the resource’s database and access terms and conditions.

2. Consult other catalogs

If the periodical you are looking for is not in our library, you can consult other national catalogs, such as ACNP OR SBN: if it is available in Rome, you can go directly to the library that has it. Otherwise, you can ask for a copy of the article you are interested in through the document delivery service.
