Periodicals are available on open shelves in alphabetical order.
Monographs are ordered by subject according with Decimal Dewey Classification and available on open shelves. To access Textbooks and Special Collections (Fondo Ungari, Fondo Bachelet, Fondo Pujia), users need to ask at the circulation desk for daily loan.
In the Economics, Law and Political Science Rooms, new acquisitions are available on open shelves ordered by Dewey Decimal Classification.
Monographs that are shelflisted as O, from 1 to 21277, from U1 to U78999 and shelflist G periodicals are kept at Viale Gottardo. Materials can be requested at the Main Library's front desk with the following delivery schedule:
- Tuesdays for materials requested on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday
- Thursdays for materials requested on Monday and Tuesday
Each user can request up to 5 monographs and 3 periodicals per week. For specific research needs, users can enter the stacks with the assistance of Library staff upon request.
Users can scan documents, as long as it is permitted by current copyright law and where it does not affect the preservation of the documents. Eleven self-service scanners are available for users.
