The Library has computerized tools available for its users with visual disabilities, to ensure they have access to bibliographic information.
Institutional users can access the digital library, which makes most of the course literature available in full text. The documents in the archive are scanned and downloaded in PDF, a format that screen reader programs can access.
In addition, the Library’s collection has digital documents and electronic resources, some of which can be consulted from outside the University: this facilitates access and allows for character recognition (OCR) of downloaded documents.
11 scanners are available in the Library to digitize printed documents, and computers are equipped with an OCR program to decode the text as well as the Balabolka voice synthesis program.
