How to access the Giappichelli Library

You can access the Giappichelli Library through OpenAthens. This guide shows you the simple steps for authentication.

How to log in
Open Giappichelli Library and login in in 3 steps.

Remember, you can also access the platform from the A-Z list of electronic resources.

Step 1: Log in to OpenAthens with your institutional account by selecting the first option, “Luiss Active Directory.”

Step 2: Search for the title you're interested in on the platform

Step 3: Generate the OTP by entering your Luiss email and typing in the code you received

The Giappichelli Library user license provides 3 digital copies of each title, which can be borrowed for 15 days. 

If all three digital copies are already on loan, you'll need to wait for the first available return date.

The loan is accessible only from the device on which it was originally activated.

Printing and Saving

While the book is on digital loan, you can print and save content, but with some limitations:

  • copy/paste function for up to 15% of the total content;
  • the ability to print a selection of text up to 15% of the total.

The copy/paste and print functions are not cumulative; however, the system records them for each individual user at the end of the loan period. Consequently, these functions are no longer guaranteed for subsequent loans of the same book.
