This service allows you to request bibliographic material from other libraries that the Luiss Library does not have and that is not available in the Rome area.

How can I access the requested books?
Consultation is exclusively in the Law Room, according to the support hours and following the instructions provided by library staff in the delivery notification.
What kind of material can be requested?
- Monographs not held by the Luiss Library
- Not available at other libraries in Rome

How many documents can be requested?
To ensure the service runs smoothly, we recommend:
- not exceed 8 requests per month
- never exceed 4 requests per day.
How much does the service cost?
The service is free if the book is available at a library with which we have a free reciprocal exchange agreement.
If you need to contact a library that charges a fee, you’ll be notified of the amount in advance (typically no more than 6 euros).
What are the wait times?
The timeframe may vary depending on the supplying library and its processing methods.
The average wait time is 8–10 days.
However, the Luiss Library is committed to processing each request within 2 business days.
Once the material is received, the user is promptly notified via email.
How can I make a request?
By filling out the designated online form, providing your details, and entering the bibliographic information for each requested document.
Who can use the service?
Italian libraries, both university and non-university, that need to consult materials from the Luiss Library collection
and that do not operate within the Rome area.
Requests from libraries based in Rome will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, considering the similarity of the requesting library’s holdings.
Personal requests are not accepted.
What kind of material can be requested?
Monographs held by the Luiss Library, in accordance with the Regulations.
The loan period is 45 days from the date of shipment.
The volumes must be consulted exclusively on the premises of the requesting library.
Before submitting your request, please consult the catalog to check what is available and whether it can be loaned.
How many documents can be requested?
- No more than 3 documents per request
- No more than 5 documents per month
How much does the service cost?
The Interlibrary Loan service is free and operates on the principle of reciprocal treatment.
If there is no reciprocity, a refund equal to 1/2 of an IFLA voucher is provided.
What are the waiting times?
The Luiss Library is committed to providing a response, even if it's a negative one, within 5 business days of receiving the request.
