BoardEx provides information and data relating to board members of most publicly traded companies in North America, the UK and Europe, and includes data on directors, senior executives and employees whose remuneration is disclosed in financial statements (disclosed earners).

It provides profiles of corporate executives (including certain demographics, education and career, compensation, board and committee members, etc.), as well as links between them and between companies.

Use BoardEx data for example to analyze connections between boards, their composition, data on remuneration and networks.

The regions covered by the subscription are North America, Europe and the United Kingdom.

Compustat Financials provides standardized North American and global financial statements and market data for over 80,000 active and inactive publicly traded companies.

Compustat North America:

  • Fundamental and market data for active and inactive companies covering approximately 30.000 U.S. companies that trade on a U.S. or Canadian Exchange. Annual, quarterly and monthly data is available from 1979 forward. 7 years of segment history data is included and daily market data from 1984
  • Historical fundamental data for North American companies with annual data from 1950 and quarterly restated data from 1962
  • Historical Annual and Quarterly Fundamental data for Banks and S&L companies. Coverage includes over 2000 active and inactive banks and thrifts with history beginning in 1962.

Compustat Global: financial and market data, covering publicly traded companies in more than 80 countries (non-U.S. and non-Canadian marketplace). Company data are normalized to provide comparability across a wide variety of global accounting standards and practices.

CRSP - Center for Research in Security Prices data available through the WRDS platform. Access is provided to the following datasets:

  • CRSP 1925 US Stock Database (Monthly)
    • monthly market data and corporate actions for over 32,000 active and inactive U.S. securities
    • data covering NYSE, NYSE American, NYSE Arca, NASDAQ, S&P 500 Composite, and Cboe BZX securities
    • key data items include: price and quote data ( open, close, bid/low, ask/high, trade-only), holding period returns with and without dividends, excess returns and , other derived data items, market capitalization, shares outstanding, trading volume, security delisting information, corporate actions, identifiers, descriptors, and supplemental data items
  • CRSP 1925 US Indexes Database (Monthly)
    • comprehensive collection of research-grade indexes that benchmark U.S. equity and U.S. Treasury performance, including nominal and inflation-adjusted returns
    • it includes cap-weighted and equal-weighted indexes, decile portfolios, S&P/NASDAQ composites, Treasury-maturity series, and CPI-linked indexes
    • key data items include: equal- and value-weighted index returns, with and without distributions, levels, and counts, S&P Composite Index level and price-only returns, NASDAQ Composite Index level and returns, risk-based indexes and decile portfolio equal-weighted returns, levels, and counts
  • CRSP/COMPUSTAT Merged Database (Monthly)
    • the database provides the historical matching of CRSP market and corporate action data with Compustat fundamental data
  • CRSP Survivor-Bias-Free US Mutual Funds Database (Quarterly)
    • mutual fund dataset that tracks both active and delisted funds
    • complete historical information on over 64,000 open-end funds, more than 31,000 of which were delisted. Included are: Equity funds, Taxable and municipal bond funds, International funds, Money market funds, Variable annuity underlying funds, ETFs and ETNs
    • data begin at varying times between 1962 and 2008 depending on availability
  • CRSP10 10 Year US Stock Database (Annual)
    • the database is a variation of its research-quality stock database that holds 10 years of monthly history for active and inactive securities

Orbis is the data resource on private companies for financial analysis relating to entities, individuals, banks and insurance companies from all over the world (the Library subscribes to the All Companies version which is the largest).

For each company Orbis contains:

  • financial information in historical series data according to the available archived data;
  • information on groups and relationships between companies (shareholding and shareholdings up to the tenth level);
  • historical shareholder data;
  • complete company details (name, address, telephone number, e-mail, business description, year of incorporation, number of employees);
  • information on corporate ownership (position currently held, positions held in the past, relationship analysis up to the third level).

Main features of the platform:

  • searching for companies by name, tax code, business sector, geographical area, number of employees, balance sheet items, economic-financial indicators, status and legal form;
  • creating lists and samples of companies and carry out customized benchmark analyzes;
  • consulting, for each entity, complete reports with company details, headquarters, economic-financial data, information on ownership;
  • exporting all available information in various formats (Excel, Word, etc.) elaborate comparisons and calculate sector averages. 

It also includes:

  • financial statements in the original pdf version for Italian companies (integration of Aida optical financial statements module);
  • share value of listed companies;
  • ESG reputational risk ratings and metrics;
  • field studies;
  • economic news;
  • M&A deals and rumors (link to Zephyr)

The database also absorbed the contents of the Osiris database which was deactivated.
